If you are like me, you must love masking tapes. And like me, you are probably always looking for the perfect way to store them or bring them out with you. The search might be over though. Check out this brand new masking tape case I bought recently!

The case will hold up to 6 rolls of tape and you can stand it upright or sideways. Easy to store and easy to bring it out with you. Good for traveling!

For those wondering, the masking tapes shown are part of the new summer collection from Daiso. I've also purchased the fusen to go with it!

Have you tried this case? What is your favorite way to bring tapes out on a trip with you? Would you like us to stock the store with these cases?

Flying Tiger's 'Travel Notebook'

For those who are unfamiliar with Flying Tiger, it is the Copenhagen version of a 'zakka' store, very cute, somewhat useful and low priced. It's one of those stores that's really hard to leave without buying a thing. The store front is so cute you'll also have trouble walking past without going in.

Yes, we're suckers for cute things.

I visited one of their stores on a recent trip to London. It was summer and there were a lot of cute summer themed things like mini deck chairs, floats, towels, you get my drift. I always pay special attention to the stationery section and I discovered a selection of 'Travel Notebooks' that looked similar to the beloved Travelers Notebooks. The covers came in a few different designs and each cover came with a kraft folder, elastics and 2 notebooks. For £2, it was a no brainer and I picked one up immediately.

First up, it's hard to complain about quality, for £2, you get what you pay for. The cover is laminated hard cardboard and there are visible lines where it's been bent but otherwise rigid and feels like it would survive tumbling around a bag. It comes fully assembled and as mentioned, it comes with a kraft folder where one side is an envelope and the other, a pocket, it also comes with 2 notebooks (square grid and lined), I'm not a fan of the paper but refills were £1 a piece, so you're basically getting the cover/kraft folder for free with the purchase of the 2 notebooks.

I reckon this would be a great starter kit for someone who wanted to try the travelers notebook system out but didn't want to invest heavily. Although I should mention that the Flying Tiger version is slightly smaller than the actual traveler's notebook. Refills from a traveler's notebook would not be able to fit into the elastics, but you can certainly slide it into the cover.

Have you seen these in stores? What did you think?

P.S Beach stickers featured are available in our store.

Here at TN5C we love finding stationery outside of the usual stationery stores. Today we review some pens we found at the Disney Store!

These pens come in a set of 7 and each one is dual tipped. One side is a fine tip and the other a brush tip. (See images). The brush tip is semi hard [not as soft as kuretake brush pens] but write beautifully as well. Perfect for lettering and naturally journaling!

Xyron 'create-a-sticker' maker

You know how sometimes you pick up a cute sheet of paper, or scrapbooking die cuts and wish it came in a sticker instead so you can put it in your travel kit? You could carry a glue stick but that seems counterproductive.

I like a clean, easy to use kit so I was excited to discover the Xyron sticker maker (mine is the pink breast cancer ribbon edition). It's compact size means you can take it with you or store it easily. You do need to purchase refills but at 6.1m long, that will last you a while. It doesn't require batteries and it's simple to use.

How to use:

  1. Pick your graphic and cut it out (I use the gyro cut, you can use a regular craft blade or scissors)
  2. Drop it in the Xyron
  3. Slowly pull at the end of the cartridge on the other end
  4. Tear off the bit with your graphic
  5. Light rub the area that has your graphic to make sure the adhesive has transferred
  6. Peel off the plastic
  7. Use sticker or store for use later!

Plan in advance to maximise use of the adhesive and make multiple stickers on a single sheet, as there is a piece between where your sheet starts and where you tore off the last piece (see picture in slideshow with 'this bit') that goes to waste.

Happy sticker creating!

*Paper used is from Daiso's sakura collection

My Bullet Journal Setup

I started bullet journaling in February, I was keeping a notebook of sorts but I was craving something a bit more organised. I came across a video on bullet journaling and went to consult the website

For the bullet journal, I bought a Hobonichi cover and a MD paper A5 Notebook (best paper ever) and set it up as per the website. I know some people prefer to use a dot grid notebook but I love a blank page.

The only thing I haven't used is the Index page, the Future log I don't use as much but the Monthly and Daily logs are my absolute go-to, I will have either of those pages open for most of the day. I found that having a sort of dashboard where I can see everything is great for productivity. My time management has improved slightly and I'm getting more things done.

I'm still tweaking the journal to meet my needs; such as creating pages for travel, work, documenting the new stash of washi tape or pens. It's whatever you want it to be, which is what I love about it.

Flip thru the gallery to see some of the accessories I use with the bullet journal.

Any tips? I'd love to know, leave them down in the comments!
