Store Update! Sticker Release Paper!

A while ago, we released A5 sticker release paper on our Etsy store. We’re now excited to announce that it is now available in A4 size!

Sticker release paper is a smooth coated paper that allows for the temporary placement of stickers, much like the sticker books of your childhood. So yes, the paper is reusable as much as you want.

We stock double sided paper, which is perfect for a variety of uses which I’ll go into more detail below.

Our A5 sticker release paper can be used in our clear 6 ring binder (pictured above), a 2 ring file, slide it into a folder, slot it into an A5 pocket folder or with some cutting, our sticker folder (currently out of stock, will be back soon!)

You can also create your own mini booklet, or go up a size to A4:

The A4 sticker release paper is very versatile.

Besides some of the same suggestions as the A5 paper such as inserting it into a folder, or using a 2 hole folder, you can also create your own travelers notebook insert! (or we can do it for you, subject to availability, please request a custom item if you do not see it on our store)

We’ve also found that it fits perfectly in our A4 slim compact foldable folder. The folder has 5 pockets and the pages are easily slid in or out for use and the best part is that it is the same size as a Travelers notebook.

Once again, our sticker release paper comes in A5 or A4 size, it is double sided and comes in a set of 10 sheets (20 usable pages!)

Also, our printer friendly A4 Washi sticker paper is back in stock!

KOKUYO Dotliner Vs DAISO Repositionable Glue Tape

Have you heard of Repositionable glue tapes? They are sticky but not permanent. Kinda like post-it notes. As a matter of fact, they are perfect for making your own post-it notes!

Today I'm going to feature two of the ones available in the market right now.

Kokuyo's DOTLINER (貼ってはがせる) & DAISO's Repositionable Glue Tape (Made by PLUS)

Note:

  1. 貼ってはがせる is Japanese for peel off aka repositionable.
  2. PLUS is the same brand that makes NORINO. The other big brand of glue tapes out there aside from Kokuyo.

The DOTLINER has a cap over the tape which you have to flick open to use whilst the DAISO edition has a "switch" which you must unlock to expose the tape dispenser. This does make the DAISO edition more travel friendly as bits of dust can get stuck to the DOTLINER tape.

The DOTLINER tape is also wider by 2.4mm. [0.1 inch] True to its namesake, the tape is in a dotted format whilst the other is a simple strip of tape.

The DOTLINER tape is a little stickier but both work just as well as each other.

The DOTLINER is also larger.

Not taking into account the width difference, the DAISO tape is indeed the cheaper option. However the DOTLINER is refillable so in the long run, the price does even out.

Verdict:

I find both just as good as the other despite the minor differences so i would say "buy whichever one you can get your hands on". Or be like me. Buy one for the home and one for travel ^^

p.s We updated our etsy store and restocked the sticker TNs so dont miss out. And our new box is available too! See here

Xyron 'create-a-sticker' maker

You know how sometimes you pick up a cute sheet of paper, or scrapbooking die cuts and wish it came in a sticker instead so you can put it in your travel kit? You could carry a glue stick but that seems counterproductive.

I like a clean, easy to use kit so I was excited to discover the Xyron sticker maker (mine is the pink breast cancer ribbon edition). It's compact size means you can take it with you or store it easily. You do need to purchase refills but at 6.1m long, that will last you a while. It doesn't require batteries and it's simple to use.

How to use:

  1. Pick your graphic and cut it out (I use the gyro cut, you can use a regular craft blade or scissors)
  2. Drop it in the Xyron
  3. Slowly pull at the end of the cartridge on the other end
  4. Tear off the bit with your graphic
  5. Light rub the area that has your graphic to make sure the adhesive has transferred
  6. Peel off the plastic
  7. Use sticker or store for use later!

Plan in advance to maximise use of the adhesive and make multiple stickers on a single sheet, as there is a piece between where your sheet starts and where you tore off the last piece (see picture in slideshow with 'this bit') that goes to waste.

Happy sticker creating!

*Paper used is from Daiso's sakura collection

HOW TO: Take your rubber stamps on the road #stickerhacks

[youtube=://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZqI_U3hnEiQ&w=854&h=480]

Welcome to another edition of Sticker Hacks! In today's episode, accompanied by our first ever video, I show you how to turn your favourite rubber stamps into stickers.

Why? you ask.

I love my rubber stamps but I find it hard to pick a few to travel with plus, there's ink pads, they're bulky and heavy, not very good to travel with.

I did 2 different versions of stickers in the video. The first one is a clear sticker, I recommend the use of Tsukineko's Stazon line of inkpads. It's permanent and works on a lot of unusual surfaces and the colours are vibrant, do allow time for the ink to dry. I also used a gyrocut (which I will cover in a future blogpost) to cut the sticker.

For the second sticker  I used uncut matte sticker paper, it's like copy paper so feel free to use any ink. You can also use the gyrocut or just a cutter and ruler like I did in the video.

If you do not have a gyrocut or don't wish to purchase one, a plain pair of scissors will work really well too.

HOW TO: Turn your washi tape into stickers. #StickerHacks

"No Stickers, No Life"

That's my stationery life motto, I can't help myself every time I see a cute sheet of stickers. I adore washi tape just as much but sometimes the extra white space can be a hindrance.

In this blogpost, I'll explain how to turn your favourite washi tapes into stickers without chopping any fingertips off.

You'll need:

  • Washi tape
  • Baking paper
  • A pair of sharp scissors

Roll out a section of the washi tape and stick it on the baking paper, you'll notice a lack of strong adhesion between the paper and the tape, this makes it easier to remove later on and does not affect the washi tape's stickiness.

Cut the strip of baking paper/Washi Tape into sections based on the design of your washi tape. For each design, use the scissors and cut around the illustration, I would suggest leaving a small white border around.

Tada! You're done, just peel off the baking paper backing and use as a sticker!

Tip: If you find the baking paper backing difficult to peel off after cutting the shape out, try aligning the illustration on the washi tape a little bit off the baking paper before cutting. It will still be easy to cut but now it's easier to remove and use as a sticker.
