Review: Keep A Notebook stamp collecter's notebook

Keep A Notebook is an indie stationery brand from Taiwan.
Their main product line are notebooks in 2 sizes:
A5 slim that is similar to the Traveler's notebook inserts and Handy, which is a smaller size and I think is unique to the brand.

I didn't find the normal inserts too interesting but the stamp collector's notebook piqued my interest.

I bought it in the handy size as I thought it would be better for travel.

There are 3 important elements to this notebook.

1. The cover, which tucks into a little overhang at the top of the notebook, keeping it securely closed in transit. It also acts as a base when stamping, which you place under the following 2 elements.

2. The paper (above) that separates each stamped sheet. It is translucent, almost like wax paper and prevents both transfer and smudging.

3. The stamping paper, grid paper that is smooth and thick enough to prevent ink bleed.

In action!

The print is so sharp, the grid lines are subtle.
Overall, great for archiving.

I've brought it on a few trips and the notebook travels well.
If you're a stamp collector, you should definitely pick this up.

MOOK REVIEW : Mizutama's How to make a cute diary

Following the success of her MOOK [magazine book] last year, popular Japanese illustrator Mizutama has launched another for 2019. As before, the MOOK comes with her trademark whimsical illustrations alongside many tips on how to decorate one’s diary or journal.

A set of foam stamps featuring her drawings are also included. If you had bought the previous MOOK, you will find that they coordinate perfectly!

Considering how useful the previous stamps have been, I’m certain the current issue’s will be just as good.

Highly recommended!

HOW TO: Take your rubber stamps on the road #stickerhacks

[youtube=://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZqI_U3hnEiQ&w=854&h=480]

Welcome to another edition of Sticker Hacks! In today's episode, accompanied by our first ever video, I show you how to turn your favourite rubber stamps into stickers.

Why? you ask.

I love my rubber stamps but I find it hard to pick a few to travel with plus, there's ink pads, they're bulky and heavy, not very good to travel with.

I did 2 different versions of stickers in the video. The first one is a clear sticker, I recommend the use of Tsukineko's Stazon line of inkpads. It's permanent and works on a lot of unusual surfaces and the colours are vibrant, do allow time for the ink to dry. I also used a gyrocut (which I will cover in a future blogpost) to cut the sticker.

For the second sticker  I used uncut matte sticker paper, it's like copy paper so feel free to use any ink. You can also use the gyrocut or just a cutter and ruler like I did in the video.

If you do not have a gyrocut or don't wish to purchase one, a plain pair of scissors will work really well too.
