Review: Cororo Roller Stamp Pen

It's exciting to find different or new pens when shopping and this Cororo stamp roller pen by Sun-star stationery is no different.

It's a dual ended pen, available in 6 colours.
I picked up the green because it's the colour I'm into recently.

One side of the pen is a fine tip liner, perfect for writing.

The other side is where the magic is.
It's a roller that produces a dotted line. Great for underlining, borders, and other planner/writing activities.

It might seem like a very niche item but I think the addition of a regular liner pen makes it a useful pen.
It also comes in nice colours, though I would like to see more romantic colours,  like the mildliner.

What do you think, is this a pen you might consider picking up?

Review: Pen Nori (Pen Glue)

We have all heard of glue sticks and tried ones that are similar in size to a pen. But what about a gluestick that is literally pen sized with a pen nib to dispense the glue?

Here is pen nori!

Here it is without the packaging and uncapped.
As you can see, the nib is exactly like that of a thick ball point pen [1.2mm?]. The glue dispensed is also colored so you can see where you have applied it. It dries clear so you do not have to worry about residue.

The glue has a strong hold and dries quite quickly.
With the small nib, it is good for attaching small and detailed areas.
I think this is a great addition to everyone's pencil case.
What do you think?
Have you tried it?

Review: Style Bookmarker by Laconic

Planning tools are really important.

These style bookmarkers by Laconic are really aesthetic.
I picked up the to do list and planning/memo grid layout list.

Each set comes with 24 sheets and each sheet is 50 x 157mm, perfect for notebooks A6 size and above.

The top of the sheet folds down to form a page holder, hence the bookmark name.

I like the off white paper of the bookmark, it will go well with notebooks such as Midori.
The paper is thick and nice to write on easy on the eyes.

You would think 24 sheets would be used up quickly but with all that space on each sheet, it actually takes a while to fill up.

If you're looking for something that looks great and feels nice to write on, I recommend picking up these bookmarkers.

Review: Airdo Stationery Set

I enjoy looking at airline merchandise, especially stuff that you only buy onboard.

Airdo is a Japan domestic airline owned by ANA that serves Hokkaido.
They have the cutest bear mascot.

I've flown with them a few times and on my recent flight, picked up this stationery set.

It comes with a Frixion multi colour pen, 2 rolls of washi tape, a set of adhesive notepaper and a backing/information card for 1,500yen (approximately 11USD)

The notepaper comes in 4 designs and there are 25 sheets of each design.
All the designs are great for travel and super cute!
I really appreciate the different colours too.

There are 2 rolls of washi tape, one is a decorative tape while the other can be used for journalling/planner.

As you can see, the mascot is pretty prominent on all the merchandise, super cute!

Lastly, you need a pen and the multi coloured frixion pen is perfect for travel!

This is such a cute travel set, it would make a great souvenir or gift for someone you know.

If you're flying from anywhere in Japan to Hokkaido, be sure to look up Airdo.
Items for sale are updated monthly so make sure to check the merchandise page before you fly.

It includes the mechanical pencil "Doctor Grip CL Playborder", Mechanical pencil “Air Blanc” and Permanent marker “Twin Marker Fine/Extra Fine” . Additionally, a matching “Mesh Pen Case" has also been released.

There are 4 design collections in all

We have picked up the Twin Marker in a monochromatic design

Like the standard twin marker, they have a fine and super fine nib.

Here are the other designs available.

What do you think? Would the packaging entice you to purchase it?

Pilot Frixion Ball 3 Wood Gift Set

Japanese stationery brands occasionally release their regular line of products in special packaging.
These make great gifts.

This coffee themed Frixion Ball 3 Wood gift set caught my eye, because y'know, coffee.

The set includes a Frixion Ball 3 Wood, an instruction sheet, a tag to show what's inside the box, a box with a magnetic closure and cute illustration, and a gift tag.

The gift tag is pretty special too, the flower embellishment is a seed paper.
You can plant it thereby upcycling it!
Did I mention instructions included? Very cool!

I don't usually use Frixion pens so this is my first 3 in one Frixion.
It has a wood grip and appears to be made with premium materials.
I enjoyed the weight and solid feel, this would indeed be a good gift.

And finally, I have to mention the selling point of the Frixion pen, the ink is erasable.
Not a great gift for someone who works in a professional setting as you shouldn't use erasable ink on important/official documents, but it would be great for a casual user or a student.

What do you think? Is this something you would purchase for a gift?

Review : PILOT Dr.Grip CL Playborder Mechanical Pencil + Acrylic Pen Stand Limited My Hero Academia Collaboration

Anime collaborations with stationery are popular in Japan and one of the latest is the PILOT X My Hero Academia Collaboration.

I picked up this particular limited edition set.

There are 5 types available in all.

Each set has an acrylic stand as well as a Dr.Grip CL Playborder Mechanical Pencil.

The mechanical pencil uses 0.5mm lead and is the same as the usual Dr.Grip pencils featuring a drawing of the character from the anime and in his color scheme.

And here is the acrylic stand

With a stationery related twist:
Yes, there is a holder for your mechanical pencil!

This set was a little expensive [typical of anime goods] but it is quite interesting with the pen holder feature.
What do you think?
Would you purchase something like this?

Review: Sun-Star Make Mark Highlighter

It's another highlighter review.

I picked up this pretty one from Sun-star's Make Mark,  nuance color marker.

It’s a cute beige colour and the pen shape is square and flat with different angled surfaces to ensure good grip.

It’s pretty simple but the entire range is pretty with it’s soft looks and feminine colours.

The colour glides on easily and dries fast, it also works well over or under different pens.

Overall, a really good highlighter.
If you like the colour, definitely one to pick up.

Review : DAISO Premium Notebook Series

Recently, Japanese store DAISO has been mentioned a lot on SNS because of their premium notebook series. Needless to say, we simply had to check it out for ourselves as well!

Here is what we got
The series has quite a big lineup.
There is 5mm grid, 5mm dot and 5mm lined and plain versions in 2 sizes A6 and B6.

This series is MADE IN JAPAN with a cover reminiscent of the expensive Japanese notebook brand NOBLE. The paper used is smooth to touch and slightly yellow.

We did a ink test on the paper using several different pens.
As you can see below, other than the copic pen and oil marker, the rest do not seep through the paper at all!
What do you think?
Have you tried this series?

Review: Velos Bulldog Clip/Hook

The Velos Clip/Hook is technically a homeware item but I did find it in a stationery store, so I think it counts.

Plus it looks like a bulldog clip.

A bulldog clip with a hook on one end.
This is a very convenient piece of kit to have.

You can use it vertically or horizontally.

There are many examples of uses such as for your umbrella, keys, and even outdoors.
Also included are rubber strips you can place on the clips to protect the surface you're clipping on to.

I bought the Medium and slim Medium size.
The difference is mainly in the hook size but both carry similar amounts of weight.

However, after using it for awhile, I would recommend buying the L size, the M size can only be used on surfaces 10mm and below, which rules out use on surfaces like tabletops and shelves.

Overall, it's a very practical item. If you are really into stationery, this will fit well into your home.
