Maruman Puo Looseleaf Notebook (A5 slim size)

At TN5C, we're all up for buying new and/or affordable stationery but sometimes a brand is mentioned and we'll nod our heads and go 'yes, that's a good quality item'.

Maruman is one of those brands, I have many teenage memories of buying Maruman notebooks, sketchbooks and thinking that the quality was really good!  So when I spotted their new notebook system on instagram, I decided I had to buy it to try it out.

Maruman is known for their 20 hole looseleaf refills, you can buy the notebooks/refills in 4 sizes and a variety of different paper types, colours and notebook covers. The Puo is the newest size addition to this line and is a slim A5, which is a size made popular by the Travelers Notebook. 

The Puo lineup consists of different notebook cover, refills, pockets and pen holder elastics and so I purchased the basic cover (which comes with a few pages of lined paper and a plastic pocket), a grid refill, slider pocket and pen holder elastic.  

The basic cover a little bit flimsy. It consists of a plastic cover and plastic rings. If you want something a bit more sturdy, the other models have metal rings, hard or faux leather covers, something for everyone and in different colours. The big difference between plastic and metal rings are the way they open, the plastic ones open to one side but the metal ones open out to the sides like regular metal rings. 

Besides the cover and the elastic pen holder, which I found a bit awkward to use, everything else is really good Maruman quality. I think I would purchase a better quality cover in the future and it would make a good bullet journal or everyday notebook! It is possible to make your own refill pages by purchasing a 20 hole punch and the Puo website has it's own printable section so there is room for this notebook system to grow and become more popular!

BANDE Sticker Roll Tape

Masking tape used : BDA273 ラナンキュラスブーケ

BANDE roll tape made quite the splash in the masking tape market early last year with its launch of the sakura petal masking tape. They are different from the usual masking tape as rather than a roll of continuous tape, they are actually pieces of die cut stickers stuck together. You can use them on their own or grouped together to form a larger picture/sticker as I have in my travelers notebook making it truly your very own.

Deco Rush (decoration tape ) by Plus

There are a million and one products you can use to journal, plan, organise on paper but I have a soft spot in my heart for Deco Rush. 

Deco Rush is a decorative tape that you use much like correction tape except with cute designs. Some are refillable, some have specific uses but they're really collectible and easy to use.

The only downside is it's not totally travel friendly, especially when you start to accumulate a few of these. However, the tape quality is really good and comparable to stickers. 

Here are the product lines available:  

Deco Rush is the OG, the first product from this line to be released. It comes in a myriad of designs and the cartridges are replaceable/exchangeable. 

Moji Liner is a highlighter in tape form. It's great for decorative frames or going over text. 
Also comes in Petit version. 

Petit Deco Rush is for diaries, planners, bullet journals etc. All the designs are a symbol of some sort you can use for planning, such as a haircut symbol, shopping bag or even a simple watercolour circle. 

Wide Deco Rush is shaped like the petit deco rush, only wider, the patterns however do not follow the same theme as the petit. Wide Deco Rush is more illustrative and you can use these to fill up spaces or as borders.

Traveler's Factory Station [Tokyo Station]

Travelers Factory is the holy grail for TN fans. They have a main store in Meguro, a store in Narita Airport and just last year, opened up a store in Tokyo Station, which I visited in December (2017). 

If you didn't know, Tokyo Station is a veritable maze of shops and train lines so it was not the easiest place to find but you'll definitely know it when you see it.

The store is roughly the same size as the Narita Airport store; carrying not only Travelers Notebooks but some of their travel accessories as well. Be sure to budget time for this as you might be here awhile. 

The biggest reason to visit this store, besides the fact that it's in a major Japanese train station, is the Station limited items. The brown TN cover only comes in standard size and is foil embossed with the train station design. There are also inserts, pencil boards, brass tags, washi tape, stickers and drawstring bags in this range. 

Unsurprisingly, since everything was so gorgeous, I picked up some goodies. The gold foil embossing on the TN cover and pencil board are my favorite touches. 

If you ever get the chance, I highly recommend a visit.

HEDERA Stationery Collection

TSUTAYA (chain of stores which sell CDs/DVDs alongside books and stationery) has released their very own stationery collection. Named HEDERA, the collection consists of items in 3 of the most instaworthy color groups > matte black, silver and rose gold. 

Needless to say, I am quite a big fan of rose gold items.

There are some staples such as a mechanical pencil, gel ink pen, ruler and pen knife.

The stapler is rather unique as you can adjust it to shut itself. It ends up looking like a rose gold lipstick case. Very pretty and yet functional. FYI, the stapler can staple up to ten pages of paper.

The tape case is rather unique and originally came with a roll of scotch tape. I replaced it with a roll of masking tape i use often in my journal. (You can purchase the masking tape and the rose gold clips in our etsy store here.)
