REVIEW : DAISO X MT Point Seal

Newly spotted in DAISO 100yen stores : MT Point Seal Series

And these aren't just masking tape texture, they are actually made by MT of MT masking tape fame!

Curious to see how they stack up, I bought two sets to try.

Each set contains 2 identical sheets each having 3 colors in 4 different sizes. (20mm, 12mm, 8mm and 5mm in diameter)
As with other items made by MT, these are also made in Japan.

Each sticker is reposition-able just like the tape put out by MT; ie. remove very easily without tearing. And like the MT tape, they are very sticky yet leave behind no reside when removed. It is clear that they are much nicer in quality than many of the generic masking tape stickers put out by DAISO.

I tried searching for more news about them online but was only able to find this small piece of news on their official facebook account regarding the sale of these point seals sold at an event in a store in KYOTO. These were sold in sets of 3 sheets for 165yen (in contrast to the set of 2 sheets for 110yen at DAISO)

This is definitely another item to look out for in DAISO!

REVIEW : PetaPeta watercolor tape

Tired of your usual stickers or washi tape? How about something a little different? Today, I'm going to review the watercolor tapes by PetaPeta.

Each roll has several different shapes and peel off the main roll of release paper easily. They also come in gorgeous vivid colors, which when placed on paper, create a watercolor look.

They are a little translucent but not quite like washi tape. If i had to give an example, i would say they are close to vellum paper. Adds a gorgeous shot of color to journals and gift wrapping. You can write on them with a marker or fast drying ball point pen! Or trying layering them for a different look! The possibilities are endless!
Have you tried these? What do you think of them?

REVIEW : DAISO Coordi range Masking Tape

We are back with more from DAISO's Coordi Stationery range. If you haven't heard about them, you can check out our original post on them here! This time we are going to review the masking tapes.

There are four designs so far.

There are two which feature more muted gray tones. One of them is all about favorite shops. I forsee myself using that a lot XD~~

The other two are brighter colors with one of them printed with time management charts.

Personally I really really love wide tapes like these and to be able to get them for just 100yen each is such a bargain! I find memo papers add to much bulk to my journal at times so its nice to be able to add these color sections instead. The colors are all the ones i like as well so it has really worked out for me!!

What about you ? Have you tried them yet?

Review : DAISO Korea Masking Sticker

Here at TN5C we love Daiso! And since Korea's Daiso carries items different to that of Japan, we had to drop in for a look!
Amongst the things we bought were these Masking Stickers!
They cost 2000won each [about USD$2]. Do note that not all items in Korea's DAISO are the same price so please check the price tag before purchasing!

Each set comes with 2 rolls of tape. One roll of faces + a roll of outfits for you to mix and match to create your own original sticker character.

There are 6 different faces and 6 different outfits. The sticker is made out of masking tape and peels off easily.
They are quite reminiscent of the Japanese masking tape brand BANDE and a cute addition to anyone's masking tape collection!

Have you tried these? OR what do you recommend from DAISO in Korea?

Review : KOKYUO Shellero X Mister Donut pencil case

KOKYUO is a Japanese stationery brand and one of their collections include a pencil case range [SHELLERO] which opens up completely for easy access. I've had my eye on them for a while but was never quite convinced to buy them.
Till now that is.

Yes, they collaborated with my favorite donut store MISTER DONUT to release a limited edition range.

Limited Edition is like bait to me. I cant help but covet and subsequently buy it. [sucker] In all fairness the print is actually quite pretty and i really like the words as well. Sugar Raised. I certainly am LOL.

As expected, it is truly easy to get access to all its contents at one go but i did not realise how big the capacity would be!

Here are all 16 pens from the MILDLINER brush range fitted comfortably inside of it!
A highly reccomended buy for those who bring a lot of stationery on the go with them ^^!

Review : DAISO Coordi Stationery Range

Ever popular 100yen store DAISO Japan has launched a new stationery range [COORDI]!
The range is different from their usual stuff and targets a more mature crowd or those with a love of neutrals.

Included in the range are some notebook covers which look very much like traveler notebooks.

Stickers and tapes

Fusen and and spare notebooks too

Here is my haul~

These cost 100yen + tax each.

The notebook set costs a bit more at 300yen + tax.

The set comes with the notebook cover, one refill notebook and extra connector band.

For those wondering if the refills will work in their TN, the answer is yes and no.
Yes, they will fit but note it will be a lot smaller [about one inch shorter]

Here they are: side by side. Left: DAISO COORDI Right: Traveler Notebook

All in all, a nice inexpensive buy for those just starting out and not keen to invest in an actual TN.
What do you think? Will you be trying them out?
